Since the early days of settlement the Blue  Mountains have provided challenges to those who have made the area  their home. The beautiful bushland, majestic landscapes, wonderful climate and friendly communities all contribute to a desirable quality of life. To live in this community  is to value all that life has to offer.

Hazelbrook Public School continues this  challenge by offering many opportunities and quality education for  young people.

The school community blends the older  settlements along the western railway line with modern housing  estates. The school draws approximately 500 students from a broad cross-section of society and a slowly increasing blend of ethnic  origins.

The school culture reflects a loving, caring,  learning community of children and adults. Quality and excellence as  a way of life is encouraged through positive and caring  relationships. For all students there are, and will be many opportunities throughout their school life to try new experiences  within a secure and supportive environment and to find strengths and  abilities that will be the foundations for satisfying and fulfilling lives.

Positive self esteem and quality emotional and  personal development are fostered through child focused student welfare  programs.

The shared core assumptions, values and beliefs  on which the culture of Hazelbrook is built permeate the programs,  policies and activities of the school. In so doing the students are  nurtured in an energised, dynamic and empowered  school.

The school values the contribution and participation of parents as we share, in partnership, the growth and development of children.
